Terms and conditions
OpenWebPBX Free Phone for Android.
Effective 17 October 2026 · Open ISP cc, South Africa
About these terms
Open ISP cc maintains the OpenWeb PBX project and provides the OpenWebPBX Free Phone app. These terms explain use of the project website, app and any services operated by Open ISP cc. Your organisation may operate its own PBX or use another provider; that operator's service terms also apply to its service.
Free software and its licences
The app is free to download. OpenWeb PBX and its components are provided under their respective open-source licences, available in the app and the public source repository. Your rights to use, study, modify and redistribute the software come from those licences. These terms do not replace them or restrict rights they grant.
Your phone account
The app connects to an existing OpenWeb PBX extension supplied by your administrator. Connect using the administrator's QR code or connection code. You need a compatible PBX, Android device, network connection and permissions for the features you use. Keep connection codes and credentials private, and tell your administrator if a device is lost or an account is used without permission.
Calls, charges and availability
Your PBX operator and telephone provider control outside calling, phone numbers, caller ID, recording and calling permissions. Internet, mobile-data and telephone-provider charges may apply even though the app is free. Downloading the app does not include a telephone number, telephone service or a service-level guarantee.
Calls depend on the PBX, networks, device permissions and provider availability. Calls and alerts may be interrupted or unavailable. Do not rely on this app as your only way to contact emergency services. Keep your mobile carrier's normal dialler or another suitable emergency calling service available; emergency routing and location information depend on your provider and administrator.
Responsible use and recordings
Use accounts and services you are authorised to access. Do not use OpenWeb-operated services for fraud, abusive calls, unlawful caller-ID impersonation, unauthorised access or other unlawful activity. You and your organisation are responsible for the notices, permissions and consent required when recording calls or handling other people's information.
Company and privacy contacts
Open ISP cc is registered in South Africa as a close corporation, registration number 2005/156968/23. Our business address is 22 Ladlau Drive, Simbithi Eco-Estate, Ballito, 4399, South Africa. Information Officer Leon Whitherall can be contacted at hello@openwebpbx.com or 0873508601. See company information.
Privacy and deletion
The privacy policy describes information handled by the app, website, PBX and optional delivery services. You can request deletion of your account and associated data without reinstalling the app. Disconnecting a phone or uninstalling the app does not by itself delete server records or your organisation's account.
Updates and service changes
Features and supported versions may change. Your administrator may require a supported app version. Google Play handles updates to the Play edition; direct downloads use the project's signed update process. Android may require your confirmation. Open ISP cc or your PBX operator may restrict access to services it operates to address misuse, security problems or service closure. This does not revoke rights granted by an open-source licence.
Warranties and your rights
The software's warranty and liability provisions are set out in its applicable licences. Service availability depends on your arrangements with your operator and providers. Nothing in these terms excludes a right, remedy or protection that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes and contact
Updated terms will be published here with an effective date. Contact Open ISP cc about these terms, the app or OpenWeb-operated services at hello@openwebpbx.com. For an independently operated PBX, contact its administrator about that service.
