Android support
A work phone with a clear path to help.
Connect your phone
- Ask your PBX administrator to open Users → Phone Provisioning and create your Android connection code.
- Open OpenWeb PBX on your Android phone and tap Scan QR code. You can enter the server and code manually instead.
- Check the server name, connect and allow microphone and notification access. Keep the phone connection notification running for incoming calls.
Get help
For extension setup, outgoing numbers, recordings or a phone that will not connect, contact your PBX administrator first. Choose Settings → More → Check connection in the app. Report the app version, phone model, Android version, the time of the problem and whether it happened on Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Project support: hello@openwebpbx.com. Public, non-sensitive bug reports: OpenWeb PBX on GitHub. Never post passwords, connection codes, customer telephone numbers or recordings in a public issue.
Updates and availability
Downloadable APK updates appear in the app; Android may ask you to approve installation. The Google Play edition uses the Google Play store to install updates. Your administrator can require an update. An active call is allowed to finish first. Follow the app’s on-screen instructions and reopen it if Android does not do so automatically.
The Android app needs an existing OpenWeb PBX extension, a compatible PBX server with trusted HTTPS/TLS, an internet connection and Android 9 or newer. Calls may incur charges from your internet or telephone provider. Carrier calling depends on your PBX setup.
Reopen the app after restarting or force-stopping it. Reliable push wake-up when Android has stopped the app, chat and video are not included in this release. The app is a work extension; keep your normal phone available for emergency calls.
